Tonight 7/17/15 We dined at Story Tellers Steakhouse. We heard nothing but great reviews on the food and service. We decided to give it a try. We had Patty as our server. She started off OK, but soon it went down hill. We had asked what the chef's special was, and she said it was a 10 ounce bacon wrapped filet on a portobello mushroom cap. So we order the chef's special. We order the soup du jour which was southwestern steak and onion soup and Caesar salad. The soup reminded me of a chili and both my partner and myself sent it back because it was not our cup of tea. She goes " I will take them off the bill" But my partner wanted his replace with French onion soup. We enjoyed our Blue Corn Crab Cakes. Our dinner arrives and on top of the steak is Blue cheese sauce. 1. I hate blue cheese, and 2. I am allergic to it, and 3 my partner never heard her say anything about it either. It took Patty 10 minutes to see we were needing her assistance with the problem. I said to Patty that I am allergic to blue cheese and that she never told us that the special came with it. She replied "I did tell you it was crusted with blue cheese", with an attitude. and said " What do want me to do". I clearly said I want it recooked without the blue cheese sauce. She immediately had the entree cooked again. When it was time to say I was stuffed and needed a box, Patty didn't offer dessert instead she read off the check and told us what was removed and placed the bill on the table. We paid the bill and tipped her the minimum of 10%. I immediately went out of the restaurant and spoke with the floor manager who only assured me that her boss would be notified and that corrective action would be made. Wouldn't you think he would of done something for us considering the experience we had. I most certainly will not return to Story Tellers Steakhouse again.

Storyteller's is a great steakhouse! Okay let me get the only negative out of the way. The restaurant is in a Casino. A smoked filled, casino. This is not Las Vegas and this isn't Bobby Flays. But, the food as I said above is great and we keep coming back! We have been here several times over the past four years. We have always come away believing that we just had a great meal and a great value. For many years on Sunday they also offered a 10% discount off your meals which was just another plus. The interior of the restaurant gives you the feel that you are in a cavern. We always liked it and thought it was a Nice touch. The bill runs $30-35 or so per person and as I've said the food was delicious! Enjoy!

The restaurant has a nice ambiance. Looks like Sedona. Food was great. We had steak with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, coconut shrimp and French onion soup, grilled cheese sandwiches and fruit. Also had a glass of champagne. Dessert looked great...next time!

I wish I could give it zero. I guess the one star is that the food was okay. But everything else was horrible. The server I didn't get his name UNFORTUNATLEY was a complete asshole. He had a condesending tone when my step mom asked about the menu having pepper on an item. He literally talked to her like she was the biggest idiot he had ever met... And my boyfriend ordered an appetizer for his meal and the server said "that's it?" And he didn't smile or be polite or anything. Idk if he didn't like us for whatever reason or if he just didn't want to be there and was taking it out on us, but he was SOOOO rude! So my dad asked for a different server. And our OLD server had the audacity to walk past and laugh at us like he thought the whole thing was funny!!! Like WHO DOES THAT? I'm a server and have been for 4 years and I was in shock. So my dad asked to talk to the manager and the manager didn't give a flying fuck about what my dad had to say. Speaking as a server myself, I know for a fact all they did was stand in the back and talk shit about us. It was my 20th birthday dinner and that sever AND the manager ruined it. And the new server didn't even ask if I wanted the free dessert for my birthday, which I KNOW they offer. Seriously these people are such assholes! Don't eat here unless you want shitty service from every sever there and the manager. Not to mention I could cook stakes better than that myself and I've only grilled once in my life. Yeah that server can go fuck himself

It has all the trappings of a fancy steakhouse: pleasant, intimate setting, white shirted waiters/waitresses who do a good job with what they have to work with, and a relatively limited, chop-heavy menu. But one problem: it's just not that good. Every stop along the way we remarked at how mediocre everything was, from the extremely limited wine list to the white bread to the bland appetizers and salads. The setting just can't make up for the food. However, the biggest sin was committed with the steaks we had: a little tough, clearly not cooked hot enough (no char at all), and all around pretty flavorless. At the end, we were full, and we had a good experience with the service and setting, but it just was not that good. I know there's not much to choose from in Camp Verde, but we'll go elsewhere next time...maybe even elsewhere inside the Cliff Castle.

This place is seriously amamzing. It seems on the surface to be a very expensive place.... but its actually surprisingly affordable. Remember being on a res.... theres no sales tax. 3rd was the 2nd visit we had and Cricket the hostess was as always amazing. She is warm, welcoming and very helpful in arranging Birthdays and valentines day. The food is fantastic.... there are not many places to get a whole unbelivable rack of ribs for $25 with sides. The embience of Storytellers is amazing. its very romantic, dark with water features and native american accents. Service was very attentative! Try it. Yes its more expensive than Johnny Rockets but it will be an evening to remember with some great food.

Storyteller's Steakhouse is a little gem tucked away in the back of a smokey casino. It was just what I needed to escape the circus atmosphere of the gambling crowd. It is a classy restaurant with an ample menu. We knew a starter would make it difficult to finish our meal, but we enjoyed the warm pumpernickel bread they served with a seasoned butter and whipped butter. I ordered the Kobe beef burger with a dinner salad. In addition, I choose their mashed potatoes with spinach, tomato and cauliflower. I was served an enormous patty, and an amble serving of the delicious potatoes and after the salad I could not finish the meal. My husband ordered the rack of ribs covered in a coffee barbecue sauce. Yep, coffee and it was a huge stack of delicious ribs (yes, I tried two) and it was served with potatoes au-gratin. Everything was wonderful and our only regret was that we were too full to order dessert. I had the chance to see their bread pudding being delivered to a fellow patron and it looked absolutely amazing. It was a huge portion of bread pudding topped with ice cream. Definitely, my loss. The restaurant is dark, back lit in red, making it very dramatic. It is cozy and one table is wonderfully placed beside a crackling fireplace. The service was prompt and our server was very friendly. I would visit again if in the Arizona area.

Nice atmosphere, not impressed with the food. Took forever for the surf and turf and the meat was over cooked. The complimentary bday cheesecake slice was presented well and sweet, the waiter was knowledgeable about the wine selection, and it was a romantic atmosphere for being inside of a very old casino. I would only return for the Spinach and Artichoke dip which was the best I have had so far!

I'm not one to always write negative reviews. I give credit when its due, but I have to say our recent visit to this restaurant was a major disappointment. My mother in law loves cliff castle casino, so naturally we had to stop for dinner and a little gambling on the way to Flagstaff. I was craving steak so we first stopped at storytellers. The restaurant its self is creatively decorated to resemble a cave or cavern. Out initial impression wasn't bad, the restaurant manager seated us, then informed us our waiter would be with us shortly. So we waited, and waited, and waited. I looked at my phone and realized it had been ten minutes since we were seated and no one came to ask us what we wanted to drink, or even just to say sorry and they'd be right with us. I tried to grab a different tables server but they ignored me as I called for their attention. My mother in law had to get up and follow a server to ask if they knew who our server was. The server said,"I don't know, I'll check." She went into the kitchen I am assuming, came immediately out and said he'll be right with you. So again we waited, and waited and waited. Finally my fiance (who is a very patient man) said he wanted to leave and go to Johnny Rockets, because now at this time we had waited almost 20 minutes and had not even placed our drink order. So as we got up to leave I decided to inform the manager of our dissatisfaction. I asked a server who was chatting it up with some customers who were clearly friends because she was hugging on one of them, if she could grab the manager. She did, but then told me he would be out in a minute. So I again waited, and waited and waited. Now I was angry. I asked the same server to grab the manager again except this time said "This is an urgent matter please tell him I need to speak with immediately." Still I waited. I was done. We walked out and went to Johnny Rockets. Even though they were packed we had better service than we would have ever have received at Storytellers. I will never return there ever again!

When we walked in, we were greeted with a Las Vegas-like replica of the inside of red rock canyon. Very cool. It was pretty dark, and when we opened our menus, their backlighting illuminated! Again, cool. On to the food. The salads were excellent even though they were rabbit food (spinach leaf) rather than green salad, garnished with fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. The bread was different and quite good, offered with herb butter and/or plain butter. The main courses of salmon, and petite fillet with shrimp, were both superb, without equivocation. The very best meal ever at a casino. A great value. I am very impressed. The service was good, not quite Ritzy, but still quite good. And at one-third the price of most top-tier steakhouses! All the praise I had heard was all justified! This place is a winner. P.S. Be sure to look for it at the Cliff's Casino. The directions on yelp don't include the West Middle Verde Road in the address!

DO NOT GO TO STORYTELLERS IF YOU HAVE A LARGE GROUP!!!! I took my sister and 9 other ladies (11 people total) to storytellers on Saturday for her bachelorette party, I asked if the time I made the reservation for would be good and they said yes unfortunately there was another 11 top celebrating the same thing. It took us 45 minutes to get our first course (soups and salad) and an additional 30 minutes to get our entrees. The server who took our order didn't know who got what and got half our orders wrong, she was rude and condescending to my guests, one of my guests has a severe food allergy, half of our food was cold I'm assuming because she was standing in the back doing nothing. I tried to find the manager on duty but couldnt, when I did find him he said the service would be better but nothing happened. I then complained to castle club, the floor manager and the man in charge of all the restaurants and nothing was done. To make it worse we had rooms for the night so there were plenty of times to recover the service but nothing was done. I will never return to the restaurant or the casino. I can't believe the restaurant is rated so high.

I really don't have too many complaints about my visit here. The food, service, atmosphere and especially the decor were far above average. It's a little pricey, but for a nice restaurant I think it's worth the price. The walls are covered in a fake mounain-like rock so it feels like you're eating inside a desert cave. When we came there was actually no one else in the restaurant so we had the whole place to ourselves. Our waiter was friendly and effecient and the food was exquisite. I don't think I've ever used that word before, but it was good. I had the prime rib and the portion was huge. I wisht the horseradish was a little spicier though. I will be back. Not a lot. But if I could afford it and was in the area enough I'd come here once a week.

Food was so so each time I tried them, and the wait staff took forever the last time. I think they were short staffed and the waitress forgot about us. I had two starving nephews with me and they surprised me with how patient the kids were with the wait. The time before that the waitress had a bad attitude.

I was a little worried when I read the reviews here but was pleasantly surprised. The decor is gorgeous, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious.
